Happy Monday and more importantly happy October!
If you know someone who might enjoy getting these every Monday morning, along with the occasional longer-form essay, I'll leave the share button below.
Also, I’m going to try out 2 new sections:
This day in history: Everyone seems to know what has happened in the last 96 hours, few seem to know what has happened in the last 96 years.
Honorable mention: I've included this sporadically in previous editions, but I'm going to be more consistent with linking some other cool / funny / interesting stuff I find in the wonderfully strange and beautiful thing we call the internet.
Anyways, let's get into today's edition.
Quick read
Life in Reverse // George Carlin
In my next life I want to live my life backwards.
You start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in an old people’s home
feeling better every day.
You get kicked out for being too healthy,
go collect your pension,
and then when you start work,
you get a gold watch and a party on your first day.
You work 40 years
until you’re young enough to enjoy your retirement.
You party, drink alcohol, and are generally promiscuous,
then you are ready for high school.
You then go to primary school,
you become a kid,
you play.
You have no responsibilities,
you become a baby until you are born.
And then you spend your last 9 months
floating in luxurious spa-like conditions
with central heating and room service on tap,
larger quarters every day and then Voila!
You finish off as an orgasm.
I rest my case.

Something to ponder
If you were a character in a book, what would your readers be yelling at you to do?
Honorable mention
Personal update
I am very excited to announce that I signed an offer to join Tomorrow Health as an operations associate. I'll get started a bit later this month!
In other news, I played my first game of chess at a park in NYC against a stranger and lost handily. I have much to learn.
I also watched Silver Linings Playbook for the first time in a while. Like a red Bordeaux, I have a feeling this one will continue to get better with age.
Heading to Chicago later this week to cheer on my big bad sis in the Chicago Marathon.
Anyways…
Shoot me an email, say hi, let me know if I can help with anything. Thanks for reading. Stay safe out there!
Until next week,
Enjoy this post?
